Team Ranked #1 in NorCal & Region IV & #7 in US after NorCal Showcase

After three months of separation from playing high school soccer, the Santa Clara Sporting ’94 Team regrouped last weekend to compete in the NorCal Showcase Tournament; winning two games and loosing two games to end as QuarterFinalist. The top-four teams in the event were all from the Sacramento valley and were all actively competing as a club team the last three months and not playing high school soccer. The team is now ranked #1 in NorCal, #1 in Region IV, #7 in US by GotSoccer.com

TopDrawerSoccer.com Ranks Team #2 in NorCal/Hawaii Region

Team Rankings were posted by TopDrawerSoccer.com and our ’94 Sporting Team was ranked #2 in the NorCal/Hawaii region. The listing shows Sporting as #3 behind Mt. Hamilton and PAC (the same team), and there is no way PAC has won 43 championships, so the recording/rating is wrong, but the Sporting Team data is legitimate. The team ended-up ranked #6 in the US by GotSoccer.com at the end of 2010.

Sporting ’94s Skyrocket to #6 in US

The Sporting ’94s finished a very successful 2010 season and the team is now Ranked #6 in the US, #2 in Region IV, and #2 in Northern California by GotSoccer.com. During the 2010 season, the team won the NorCal State Cup Championship and the US Club Regional Championship in Modesto, and were Finalists at: the CYSA State Cup Championship, Surf College Cup, CYSA North vs. South Championship, Placer Prestige Cup, and Semi-finalsts at: Surf Cup in July, and the Santa Clara Sporting Invitational.

The team is taking a break with players participating in high school soccer, and will regroup in late February to simultaneously compete in the CYSA and NorCal State Cup Tournaments.

Team Climbs to #14 in US on GotSoccer Ranking

GotSoccer Rankings were updated and the Sporting ’94 Team is now ranked #2 in Northern California, #5 in Region IV, and #14 in the US by GotSoccer.

Carlos Brasil Takes Over as Head Coach

Carlos Brasil takes over as the head coach of the Santa Clara Sporting 94 Team.  Carlos grew-up playing for Santa Clara Sporting as a youth; played on the Sporting Men’s Team, and has coached in the club for more than 10 years. He also served as Santa Clara Sporting’s Coaching Director for a number of seasons.  His ’92 Sporting Team (U18) will graduate in May of 2011, and every player received offers to play collegiate soccer.

The Sporting ’94 Team was previously coached by Ralf Cebrian, who took the team from a Class 3 Team, and developed them into one of the top Class 1 Teams in the ’94 Age Group in three short years. The ’94 Team is ranked #2 in Northern California and #15 in the United States by GotSoccer.com
